  Having a stroke means a patient is even more dependent on doctors and their practices. Unexpected problems are stressful, and stroke survivors do not need stress; hypertension is the primary cause of stroke and TIAs (mini strokes). Taking two metoprolol a day caused me to run out before I expected. When I called Healthways, the prescription refill line recording said I may have to wait 48 to 72 hours for my refill to be ready; not what I wanted to hear. My lack of planning (who runs out of essential meds?) is not Healthways fault, but I was desperate and called the triage line. I left a message explaining my problem. Within a day CVS pharmacy had my order ready for me to pick up. Healthways has some terrific nurses handling triage. Not wanting to run out of drugs again I called the Healthway's prescription reorder line and left a message. (You need to have confidence in your doctors office to leave phone messages; the refill line recorded message says “Please do not leave multiple messages.”) The next day Blink health sent me an email saying “Thank you for refilling your atorvastatin.” Healthways sent CVS my refill order; Crystal at CVS filled the order and charged it to my Blink account, and it was ready for me to pick up at the pharmacy. That is great service by the businesses I depend upon to keep me healthy, and to keep stress out of my life. I expect my camp physical next week to be just as pleasant an experience.
